Welcome to BITB

Global leader ITB comes to India, with a co-branded show. A befitting recognition for Indian Travel and Tourism, one of the steadiest growth markets in the world. Indeed, India’s time has come.

The first edition of BITB – Bharat International Tourism Bazaar will be held on 3-6 October, 2016 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The local partner is India’s first mover in B2B tourism marts, having driven the country’s best show then, from 1994 to 2011.

The event promises to be a comprehensive and inclusive tourism showcase for domestic, outbound and inbound into India. We present an exclusive showcase of the new drivers for Indian tourism and travel, new age players that are driving the overall business. BITB is content driven, with a sharp focus on tourism, bringing senior industry leadership and serious buying, all under one roof.

Apart from B2B exhibits, we feature 6 Power conclaves, each anchored by the country’s leading knowledge driver in that segment. So, there is buying and selling, and also sharing of thoughts on what is trending and what to expect in the marketplace.

1000 hosted buyers from pan India and from around the world, from select markets that generate business. Overall, the show promises over 12,000 delegates across titles and roles in the tourism industry.

"ITB Berlin is thrilled with the prospect of the forthcoming BITB show, later this October in New Delhi. We have been for long looking at India and now is the right time to go ahead. We believe we have the right partner, with the right credentials in the Indian market, and we have started what promises to be a rewarding and satisfying journey. We all know how the Indian market is growing, and we hope to contribute to its growth by providing a business platform for the industry at large. BITB is happening at the right place and at the right time in the journey of travel and tourism in this region. From a worldwide perspective, we know that travel and tourism will continue to grow. Some markets are economically challenged, others are showing some instability or the other, for a variety of reasons. We do believe that above them all, tourism will enable people to meet each other, understand different cultures and societies and this will foster greater peace among mankind. We do believe that tourism has the power to heal, make people connect and also bring economic prosperity to the local people. If tourism is going to be inclusive and able to permeate at all levels in the receiving markets, then tourism will have a great future. Governments around the world recognize this and understandably, the desire to promote tourism upfront is only engaging the world. This is one positive sentiment that we see most prominently at every ITB."

"Air India has been in the forefront of the revival and dynamism that we see in the country's aviation space, with introduction of new flights, streamlining of services and giving customers what they want. We are happy to learn of BITB as a new event from such experienced hands in the business, that will provide focus and stimulus to travel and tourism. We wish them every success."

"For Indian tourism, the potential is enormous and the challenge of improving the tourism experience, making it world class, bringing a huge number of products from across the country into mainstream activity remains formidable. Therefore, a coming together of Indian enterprise with ITB Berlin, the world leader with unmatched outreach to world markets, will bring new dimensions. I have watched the growth of Navin Berry's earlier foray into B2B tourism forum from a modest start, developing into an international show of great strength. This new venture will definitely provide India a great opportunity for positioning our own strengths in tourism and aligning them to world expectations."

"My congratulations to ITB and Cross Section on their pioneering vision of coming together and planning to host BITB in India!

The idea of introducing a comprehensive event which includes traditional and modern businesses with a strong tourism component is most timely for the larger interest of the hospitality industry. BITB will help focus on the outreach of tourism in its inclusive nature as it encompasses our lives every day most significantly.

I am equally delighted to understand that this event will have a diversified buyer base and will provide a more meaningful format for doing business, keeping in mind the changing dynamics of our business including online and technology."

"It is indeed a major accomplishment that ITB Berlin is collaborating to set-up a show called BITB scheduled for October 2016. Also, by concentrating on MICE segments it would lead to immediate results as it is totally unchartered territory. Convention Tourism, as we know, is the fastest growing segment in Tourism worldwide and India is unable to attract this segment because of lack of infrastructure facilities to house large Conventions as well as due to insufficient marketing efforts to bring them to India. Also, Sports and Event based Tourism have great potential as is seen from the infrastructure being built for the 2020 Expo in Dubai, and World Football Cup in Doha. I am sure the Hotel and Tourism Industry would be there to take advantage of this new show. I wish you all success."

"Great news that ITB Berlin is being brought to India as BITB by the creator of SATTE, Navin Berry as a Partner in this Product, and will be launched in Delhi in late October 2016. Going by the success and respect achieved by SATTE, which was launched in 1994, and having seen the competence, dedication and experience of Navin and his team from close quarters, I have no doubt that BITB, a timely all-encompassing tourism initiative, will also be a huge hit.

Heartiest congratulations to Navin and his team for bringing glory to India Tourism and best wishes for the success of the Product."

"This is great news for Indian tourism. I expect that more international exposure will happen for Indian products. A global perspective would also mean more awareness of what technology is doing to travel, and how online is giving new outreach to global tourism. More specifically how India can gain from technology applications! I expect the expo and conference segment in technology would be an important step forward for all participants at the show, specially for policy planners and industry leadership. I am sure the event will contribute in many ways to make Indian tourism more dynamic and responsive to world currents.

"You know how fond Ram was of you and his support that you always had. I am delighted to see your successes over the years and am happy to see Rajeev and Rohit continue their fathers’ engagement with you. Indian tourism needs a lot of innovation and paradigm shifting actions. I wish you all the very best for the years to come."

"I am delighted to hear of ITB coming to India to collaborate with the most respected creator of travel marts in the country. This development comes at a time when the complexity and diversity of tourism is being recognized. Equally what is being acknowledged is the economic and social importance of our industry to the larger economy. This forthcoming show can be most critical as it hopes to position tourism accordingly.

ITB's track record as a world leader with 50 years in business will be most useful for India and I am confident that both the Indian government and industry will make full use of this opportunity.

"I would like to congratulate you on your forthcoming travel trade show. Your pioneering efforts in the travel industry and your vision gave the Indian subcontinent its first ever travel show way back in 1994. Your efforts in projecting the Indian subcontinent through your shows over the years have immensely benefited the travel industry. Over the years the travel industry has evolved and transformed the way we purchase travel. Travel companies that can offer a blend of online and offline travel will capture the wallets of the millennial traveller. I do believe that your show will have all the elements that can attract this segment and redefine the entire travel experience"

"The Ecotourism Society of India is confident that this initiative will repeat the contribution that Cross Section made when it launched India's first B2B travel mart and then over the years, as it grew from strength to strength. Times have changed. Rest of the world is basking on Sustainable Tourism showcasing all their niche products. Though India has the products and the capacity to lead the world in this segment, it is unfortunate that we are far behind in achieving this goal. I believe the forthcoming BITB will position India right and place it where it belongs - on the top!"
